The Learn to Skate program is open to all boys and girls ages 3 and above, beginner thru advanced. Special adult classes are available. Classes are held on Saturdays from 10AM-11AM, and include a 30 minute supervised practice area along with a 25 minute group lesson. Special groups available for beginners.
Our programs conform with the United Figure Skating Association (U.S.F.S.A.) "Basic Skills Program." Programs are tailored to serve the needs of both the recreational and the competitive skater (for both hockey and figure skating). All registered members will receive an official Basic Skills Membership Card, Record Book with stickers, official Basic Skills member patch, and a U.S.F.S.A. Certificate for each level passed.
On the first day of each session and every week after, skaters are asked to check in at the desk in the lobby and give your name.
Group placement is made according to age and ability. The first lesson of each session includes the evaluation of skaters ability, arranging of classes, and the proper placement of skaters. Some changes in placement may also be made during a session as needed.
Properly fitted skates with single runners are required along with hats and mittens for safety and warmth. Helmets are optional but suggested for young children. Snowsuits and snowpants are NOT RECOMMENDED as they are extremely slippery when in contact with the ice.
Free Skate rental available for registered participants only during lesson time.
